Design for the Environment

This is a program developed by the USA Environmental Protection Agency to help the auto refinish industry integrate health and environmental considerations into business decisions. Even though it is a USA based program, the concepts are applicable for auto repair facilities in Canada. Some of the benefits are:

" Reduced health and environmental risks
" Improved process efficiency
" Better worker morale and productivity
" Improved compliance with regulatory requirements

For more information on how this concept can benefit a shop, see: http://www.epa.gov/dfe/projects/auto/
